Partnership in Action
Bring your resources, expertise, and influence to computer science education
Our CS Partnership Ecosystem
Our ecosystem is a collaborative network of industry leaders, educational institutions, and state agencies dedicated to building a sustainable future for computer science. By bridging the gap between pedagogical theory and classroom practice, we empower our partners to move from contributors to catalysts in their own communities. Together, we provide the essential resources, standards, and professional learning necessary to ensure every student is equipped for a digital world.

PITSCO EDUCATION
We’re proud to partner with PITSCO Education leading education that positively affects learners bringing MegaBytes Magazine to schools nationwide. Beyond distribution, PITSCO was a vital force at our Micro:bit LIVE conference, contributing as keynote speakers, presenters, and vendors. We are excited to continue this momentum through collaborative professional learning programs for educators.

CSTA NATIONAL & VIRGINIA
CSTA has been a foundational partner since our 2013 launch, we work with CSTA at both the state and national levels helping teachers Connect, Grow and Share. From helping charter Virginia chapters to serving on national standards revision and advocacy committees, our leadership is woven into the organization. As recurring national conference presenters, we collaborate to bring premium professional learning and a global network to educators everywhere.

MICRO:BIT EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
We’ve teamed up with the Micro:bit Educational Foundation to bring the pedagogy of computer science education to the affordable, versatile, hands-on hardware serving our aligned mission of accessibility. Co-hosting Micro:bit LIVE VA conference showcased the powerful impact of collaborative contribution to computer science education ecosystem to inspire, share, explore and connect with educators.

VTEC & STEM-CTE Project
As a primary partner in the STEM-CTE Project, we collaborate with VTEC to prepare Native American students for high-wage, in-demand careers. Funded through the Perkins Native American Career and Technical Education Program, this initiative integrates indigenous perspectives into technical curriculum and provides specialized professional learning. Together, we are building a culturally responsive pipeline that ensures Virginia’s Tribal Nations are leaders in the modern technical workforceVDOE
We work hand-in-hand with the VDOE to anchor the computer science education ecosystem across the Commonwealth. Our deep partnership fuels CS Ready School Partnerships, statewide curriculum development, and expert professional learning opportunities at reduced or no cost to Virginia educators. As a leader in the movement, CodeVA was a major player in passing the statewide CS mandate and continues to ensure rigorous VA SOL alignment through our role on the state standards writing committee.

ODU & ARCS GRANT
Through the Advancing Rural Computer Science (ARCS) Grant, we partnered with Old Dominion University to expand high-quality CS access to rural and underrepresented K-5 communities. This initiative pioneers competency-based micro-credentials for educators, providing a scalable pathway for teachers to demonstrate mastery in CS integration. By combining CodeVA’s specialized curriculum development with ODU’s academic rigor, we are building a sustainable cadre of expert educators equipped to lead the next generation of digital innovators

Virginia Beach City Public Schools
Our partnership with Virginia Beach City Public Schools is a model for division-wide computer science leadership. Through ACSE grant collaborations, we provide tailored professional learning and curriculum support that spans both synchronous and asynchronous environments. VBCPS is a vital contributor to our ecosystem, frequently sharing expertise at the DTAL Conference and providing the talented educators who serve as CodeVA facilitators. Together, we translate state standards into classroom innovation, ensuring teachers and students are equipped for a digital future.

Forward Education
Our partnership with Forward Ed centers on classroom innovation and educator support. As the premier sponsor of Micro:bit LIVE VA and a contributor to the CS Summit, they provide the resources that bring hands-on tools to life. By integrating their technology with our curriculum, we help educators bridge the gap between pedagogy and practice, moving from learners to practitioners through high-quality professional learning and cutting-edge classroom tools.

AMAZON
As a foundational anchor of our ecosystem, Amazon provided the transformative investment that fueled CodeVA’s initial statewide expansion. Their long-standing commitment has been a primary catalyst for our growth, enabling us to reach significant impact milestones in computer science access. This partnership represents a powerful alignment between industry and education, providing the essential resources to scale our mission and create measurable opportunities for students and educators.
National Education Association (NEA)
In partnership with the National Education Association (NEA), we authored the national Computer Science Micro-credential Stack to provide a scalable, competency-based pathway for educators. This initiative translates complex concepts into achievable professional milestones from data analysis to computational thinking. By leading this development, we ensure teachers nationwide have access to verified credentials that recognize their expertise and commitment to digital literacy.

CODE.ORG
As a founding Regional Partner since 2013, we co-created the Code.org District Program based on our own CS Ready Schools framework. By adapting national courses to meet Virginia SOL standards, we provide custom professional learning that serves as a springboard for state educators. This collaboration remains a cornerstone of our work, driving the growth of our statewide facilitator pool and ensuring Virginia teachers have access to world-class CS training.
