Bootcamp Begins for The Virginia Cyber Robotics Coding Competition (CRCC)

October 15, 2018 - November 4, 2018

Free

CodeVA’s partner The Intelitek STEM and CTE Education Foundation have launched The Virginia Cyber Robotics Coding Competition (VA CRCC) for Fall 2018. VA CRCC is an exciting online student competition in it’s second year. Participating classes and groups use a cloud-based simulation platform featuring a 3-D virtual robot. The competition focuses on code development, the new frontier of STEM. Once registered, grade-level teams will compete from any Chrome computer browser to complete missions and challenges. Winners will be the schools who can best strategize, plan and complete the challenges. For more information please visit their website or view the Fall 18 VA CRCC Flyer.

Boot Camp is the first phase and is a practice phase, self-directed and highly scaffolded. All students get access to the competition and have a few weeks to learn, practice and develop their coding knowledge and skills over more than 50 missions. The goal is participation – how many students in your school can you activate? How many female students can you involve? There are prizes for participation and diversity and Schools with higher participation rates will receive an invitation to the finals. This is a chance for all the students to try out coding, get familiar with the platform and learn about coding.

Educators are strongly encouraged to register their classes for VA CRCC before the Educator’s Webinar on October 9th, but registration will remain open until November 10th.
